Remarkably beautiful, emotional and a heart-touching film.
Pixar's 'The Good Dinosaur' is one of the most spectacular animated films I've ever seen. The landscapes shown in the film are breathtaking and some scenes are realistic enough to be a Planet Earth episode. The backgrounds and all the lanscapes shown are insanely realistic. Each frame is extraordinarily detailed as we can see every small detail clearly. The 3D effects are good but not upto my expectations.
A lanscape still from the movie.
'The Good Dinosaur' is set in an alternate timeline in which the asteroid that destroyed the dinosaurs missed Earth, this movie introduces the world that's still ruled by giant reptiles. The most shocking as well as funny thing in the movie is that dinosaurs are behaving like humans as they were talking, farming etc... whereas the humans are like animals who don't talk, they walk using feet and hands both, they prey and they are called critters.
A still of a human child from the movie.
As far as characters are concerned they are not as deep as in previous Pixar movies, but they are still cute and intresting. Arlo (dinosaur) and Spot (human) looks cute together. We suprisingly will start caring for Arlo from the beginning. Many of the side characters are pretty intresting as well, and seem like perhaps they should have gotten more screen time.
About "Arlo- A little Dinosaur"
If you are looking for another Inside Out, Wall-E, UP, or Toy Story, than you will be disappointed. However, you will have an enjoyable experience at theatre. The plot doesn't run very deep perhaps follows traditional movie making but this doesn't stopped me from enjoying this movie. There are multiple scenes in this movie where I was nearly moved to tears.
I'll give it 7/10, especially for its mindblowing animation and also for the emotional touch in the movie that will make you smile as well cry at the same time. Negetive reviewers were probably expecting Best Picture nominee kind of film. This is not that film but it is quite a good one nonetheless.
Another beautiful still from the movie.
